SinaSim Laparoscopic Surgery Simulator

SinaSim Laparoscopic Surgery Simulator is a laparoscopic surgery simulator with the ability to record user performance and provide progress reports. This system consists of two parts: hardware and software. The system hardware provides geometric and spatial conditions similar to laparoscopic surgery conditions and provides the user with a set of surgical instruments, electrosurgical pedals, and a reconstructed image of the actual laparoscopic surgery conditions. The system software, in simultaneous communication with the hardware, simulates the laparoscopic surgical environment in terms of geometry and reacts and simulates the behavior of the organ being operated on based on the user's performance in interacting with the hardware, sets of surgical instruments, and electrosurgical pedals. In addition to the simulated laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery environment, the software of this system designs standard processes based on the Mistels standard for laparoscopic surgery training and evaluates the necessary three-dimensional spaces and standard training processes in 4 different environments and during different processes. The application of this system is in teaching laparoscopic surgical methods to surgical residents before starting surgery on humans and based on ethical considerations that protect animal rights precede practicing surgery on animals. In addition, since in this system each user enters the software using his personal account and will practice, the system is able to prepare a report on the practitioner's performance and progress and present it to the supervising professor during the internship. Currently, this method is used in many advanced countries to issue a license to start laparoscopic surgery.
